PcDuino Laptop - Xtase & Androids

PcDuino Laptop in an MO5 case (an easter egg ... but it's not the season ;) )

(this work is still in progress ...)

When it's closed : it just looks like an old MO5...

But when it's opened ... it's a real laptop !

PcDuino w/ dual-core 1GHz, 1GB ram

a 7inch 1024x600 LCD touchscreen

a 10000 mAh power bank

wifi / BT ...

This is how I proceed :

I had an old MO5 that I saved from trash a long time ago, & I did nothing particular w/ that machine (it wasn't one of my favorite in my collection) & I needed a case to make my PcDuino Laptop, so I decided to reuse the MO5 enclosure...

I emptied the machine (an MO5 case contains only a mainboard & a keyboard),

tried to place all parts into the case

& when I found the right matching layout, decided to start the work

I started to screw the screen under the original keyboard (upper laptop panel)

then I smashed a lot of plastic pieces to make more space inside

I placed the 10000mAh battery pack, the PcDuino3 nano itself & a self powered usb hub,

(notice that power bank can also provide extra powering for usb hub)

near that, I put a BT keyboard (RAPOO apple slim kbd)

As I need to switch ON/OFF keyboard & ask for a pairing @ each ubuntu startup :

I decided to modify the RAPOO keyboard too ...

I brushed these 2 switches in front side on a control perfboard

I choosed PcDuino3 Nano board instead of rPI2 beacause of all availables GPIOs & arduinoish behaviour.

It is less powerfull than the quad-core rPI2 but it run all I need @ this time
